3D Classics: Kid Icarus (3DS eShop) review

Kid Icarus is a first-party NES game that achieved little more than cult classic-level success upon original release.  Aside from one Game Boy sequel, the franchise was completely ignored for over a decade until finally Pit was given another chance to shine as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.  Smash Bros. series creative genius Masahiro Sakurai then proceeded to begin work on Kid Icarus: Uprising, a series reboot recently released on the 3DS that makes use of aesthetic designs created for Brawl.  With a renewed interest in the franchise, it only made sense to give the original Kid Icarus the 3D Classics treatment. Lost in Shadow (Wii) review

The camera pans around the top of a tall tower.  A boy floats in the air near the edge.  A man wearing a hood walks forth, summons a sword out of thin air, and slashes.  The boy is unharmed, but his shadow slumps to the ground.  The man then picks up the shadow by the neck and hurls it off of the tower.  A more confusing opening scene you’ll rarely see, yet thus begins A Shadow’s Tale… Read more of this post
